Description
The Godeanu Massif is a mountain unit belonging to the western part of the Southern Carpathians known as the Transylvanian Alps. The maximum altitude is reached in the Gugu peak with 2,291 m. The Godeanu massif has a pronounced asymmetry. The highest heights are located along the main ridge, respectively north of it. Occupying an almost central position in the mountainous space between the rivers Jiu, Timis and Cerna, the Godeanu massif is a strong orographic node. Southern Carpathians, Romania, Europe.
