Description
Egyptian tv and film actor Omar Sharif arrives at the gala celebrating the 10th anniversary of the American Film Institute, AFI, at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, on November 17, 1977. Winner of multiple Golden Globe Awards and an Oscar nominee, Sharif is best known for his roles in `Dr. Zhivago,` `Lawrence of Arabia,` and `Funny Girl.` He had a facility with languages and spoke fluently in 6: Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Italian, and Greek. He was also a renowned contract bridge player horse aficianado. He died on July 10, 2015 from a heart attack in Cairo at the age of 83.
