The 5-storey Portland Stone building was designed by Jack McMullen Brooks. This building is listed under the Planning Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas Act 1990 as amended for its special architectural or historic interest. Simple, contemporary interventions preserve and enhance the building’s original character. The existing ornate entrance hall is converted into a bar and restaurant, with upper floors converted into 20 bedrooms. Seven are historic rooms which retain many of their original features, of which five are suites.
