Pictured is the Texas Historical Commission marker for Beulah A. Harriss in Quakertown Park in Denton, Texas. She was born in 1889 and died in 1977. She retired in 1960 after 46 years at the University of North Texas as a teacher and women`s athletics activist. She was inducted into the North Texas Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987. She is remembered each February 27th on Beulah Harriss Day. She was also a leader in the Girl Scouts. The marker is located in Quakertown Park.
