Description
The sarcophagus is known as the Tomb of Croatian Greats, i.e. the Tomb of Bihac nobility. The original sarcophagus was erected towards the end of the 19th century, in the first decade after the occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina by Austro-Hungarian, at the location where the then new Church of St. Ante Padovanski was built in Bihac. The sarcophagus stored the remains of nine Bihak dignitaries, who defended BihaÃâ¡, died in battles against the Ottoman army in the first half of the 16th century.
