Archway at Muscat Street leading to the Sultan Mosque or Masjid Sultan, in the Kampong Glam precinct, Singapore #214911146
Description

While not the largest nor the oldest mosque in Singapore, Sultan Mosque is an iconic landmark that is linked to the founding of the country. Built for Sultan Hussain Shah of Johor who granted the land to the British in 1819, the present building was erected in 1928, based on a Indo-Saracenic architecture design and is outstanding for its two large golden-yellow onion domes, with interiors made entirely out of glass bottles. It was gazetted as a national monument in 1975.
