The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary is a Baroque church near the Franciscan monastery in Hejnice. It is located on the site of an old pilgrimage site from the 13th century. It is sometimes called a basilica, but the process of upgrading the church to a minor basilica has not yet been completed, remaining at the level of diplomatic protocol before the outbreak of World War II. It is probably the oldest Marian pilgrimage site in the Diocese of Litoměřice. There is a worshiped Gothic statue 38 cm high, a statue of the Virgin Mary called the Beautiful Mother Latin Mater Formosa or Maria Formosa.It is one of the most beautiful churches with beautiful frescoes, a unique pulpit and paintings of saints.
