The weight of the statue is about 2000 tons and its surface is covered with 24 karat 99.9% purity gold foil. The Golden Eagle is glittering and marvelous with alert, penetrating eyes staring forward. It seems that the eagle will immediately conquer whatever the monsters are. Climbing up the `belly` of the eagle and looking down at the sight of the major city in the evening, you can see a perfect night scene of Chongqing on the 1st of August in 1988, the Golden Eagle was consecrated by a Tibetan Buddha. Now, the Golden Eagle has become a landmark of Chongqing.
