Low-Profile Suspension Bridge over River in Tokyo #215964708
Description
The Kiyosu Bridge is one of my favorite bridges crossing over Sumida River in Tokyo. Built after the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake magnitude of 7.9, killing approx. 140,000 people. The bridge was modeled after the Köln-Deutz Bridge in Germany and became Japanââ¬â¢s first self-anchored chain suspension bridge. This bridge is said to have a more graceful, beautiful, feminine form.
