The ancient ruins of the once impressive structure of the arches and vaulted walls on the great hall and impressive ruins are situated about a mile and a half from the village of Craigie and are recognised as one of the earliest buildings in the country and thought to have been the birth place of William Wallace when the castle was owned by his grandfather
