Observatorium Skalnate pleso (Skalnate Pleso Observatory) is an astronomical observatory in Slovakia. There is also a meteorological observatory. It is near Tatranská Lomnica village. Skalnate pleso name means Rocky Lake or Rocky Tarn. It is located under the most popular and most famous peak of the High Tatras, Lomnický Peak (2634 m). The triangular top of the peak is connected to three ridges. The north-western ridge joins the main ridge of the High Tatras passing PyÃ
¡ný and Baranie Saddle. In the north-east direction it is followed by a crotch passing the KeÃ
¾marský Peak. The Lomnický Ridge, passes Lomnické Saddle in the south.
