Description
Casa Europa is a historic building which was built by Portuguese during colonialization in late nineteenth century located at Avenida Presidente Nicolau Lobato in Dili capital of Timor-Leste. Intially it is a Portuguese Quartel de Infantaria (i.e.infantry barracks). Then in late 1930s, the being used as administration office of municipality of Dili. It was as used as Japanese headquarter for few years (from 1942- 1945) during occupation in Timor Portuguese.It then reverted to being Portuguese military facility until 1972, and was later taken over by Indonesian military. Post Independence of Timor-Leste in 1999, the building has been upgraded for 2 times.Where the first in period between 2000 - 2002,and second one in 2008.
