The fortress of Ibiza is a large fortification built on the coast of the island of the same name in the XII century. Its appearance combines elements of Gothic and Renaissance. Around the perimeter of the castle is surrounded by a long fortress wall with twelve towers, inside it are the governor's house, the cathedral, the citadel and medieval houses of peaceful citizens.It is noteworthy that some of these buildings are still inhabited by people. The rest of the premises are now occupied by souvenir shops, bars, restaurants and exhibition halls. This public space is open to the public around the clock. Especially beautiful views open from the high walls of the castle in the early morning and at night. Also in the fortress of Ibiza, there is the city's archaeological museum, where medieval armor and ancient cannons are displayed.
