Description
This bronze statue of African American former slave and noted author and abolitionist Frederick Douglass stands outside the Talbot County Courthouse in Easton, Maryland, about 9 miles from where he was born as a slave. It stands on the opposite wing of the courthouse from the controversial statue f the Talbot Boys, who fought as soldiers from Talbot County in the Confederacy. The statue was created by Jay Hall Carpenter and erected in 2011.
