Description
The carapace of Uca arcuata is 3-4 cm wide and is larger than U. crassipes and U. lactea. The color of the carapace varies but is mostly in black and orange stripes. The walking legs are orange or dark red. The major cheliped is orange or red with white movable finger. They inhabit in mangrove and mudflat. During low tide, they use soil to build burrows with chimney-shaped opening which closes during high tide.
