Description
Eternal snow on the northern slope of Elbrus begins at an altitude of 3850 m, on the southern slope the snow line is slightly lower, from 2000 m. The glaciers of Elbrus feed Baksan river. The glacier Maly Azau descends to an altitude of 3100 m. Deep cracks are visible on the surface of the glacier. The thickness of the cracks is several tens of meters. Glacier thickness reaches 100m, but at the edges up to 10m.
