Palazzo Borromeo or palazzina di Pio IV is a historic and ancient palace in Rome,not to be confused with Palazzo Gabrielli-Borromeo. Located along the Via Flaminia and with the entrance in via delle Belle Arti, it represents a typical Renaissance palace, designed in 1561 by the architect Pirro Ligorio for Pope Pius IV. In 1929 after the Lateran Pacts it was purchased by the Italian State to make it the new Italian embassy to the Holy See, still active
