Painted limestone stela from the 18th Dynasty of the New Kingdom at the British Museum London #219541612
Description
A stela such as this would be placed in the offering chamber of the tomb to act as the focus for the offerings made daily on behalf of the deceased tomb owner. Should they not be presented, the offering scenes on the stela could by magic come into three-dimensional being and supply the lack.Inscription type: inscriptionInscription script: hieroglyphic
