Description
Jackson Lake State Park was established in 1963 and is administered by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. The area is known for its shoreline camping and its large, warm-water reservoir. Popular as a water sports destination, the reservoir also holds water used to irrigate thousands of acres of Colorado farmland. Many types of wildlife and birds can be seen in the park, including pelicans, turkey, deer, raccoon, coyote and numerous shorebirds. Several walking trails thread their way through the park, leading visitors to the swimming beach and numerous campsites.
