Lotru Mountains, Romanian: Munții Lotrului are a group of mountains that are part of the Southern Carpathians, in Romania. The highest peak is Steflesti Peak at 2,242 metres. The Sureanu-Parang-Lotrului mountain group is the major central group of the Southern Carpathians. The group comprises six crystalline mountain groups with altitudes between 2,000 and 2,500 m, all called mountains. The major central group of the Southern Carpathians is the most homogeneous of their four groups both petrographically and in terms of geographical distribution and altitude.
