Bust of Antinous-Dionysus with a bronze wreath. Circa the middle of the 2nd century AD. Marble. Acquired in 1861 from the collection of the Marquis of Campana, Rome. Collection of the State Hermitage Museum. Saint-Petersburg, Russia. The Greek youth Antinous is the favorite of the Roman emperor Hadrian, who tragically died during a trip to Egypt in 130 AD and was deified at the behest of the emperor. Numerous statues of Antinous in the image of the gods Dionysus, Hermes, Sylvanas adorned Hadrian`s villa in Tivoli
