Description
The Church of Santa Maria de la Antigua, located at Plaza de Portugalete in the Spanish city of Valladolid, is a Gothic church that dates from the 14th century, with a tower that was built for the church in the 13th century. It started out as a chapel for the Conde Ansurez in the 11th century. The tower is one of the best examples of the Castillian Romanesque period for its slenderness and beauty. It is called the Queen of the Castillian Romanesque church towers and it is now a symbol of the city.
