Title
Birds Nest Fungi in Varying Stages of Growth #224345033
Description
A mushroom that looks like a birds nest. Tiny fungus named Birds Nest Fungi because it is cup shaped and holds tiny oval `eggs` or periodoles. These eggs are launched like rockets in the air to reproduce, often when it rains and water gets in the cup. As they age, the white caps rupture and the eggs are revealed. No bigger than a pinky nail, they are found among mulch or other decaying wood. Nidulariaceae family of fungi.
