View of Muztagh Ata or Muztagata & its glaciers from the Karakoram Highway, near Tashkurgan, Xinjiang, China #225162700
Description
Known as `Father of the Icebergs` in the local Uighur language or Mushitage Feng in Chinese, Muztagh Ata is located in the eastern part of the Pamir Mountains. At 7,509 meters, it is the second highest of the mountains which form the northern edge of the Tibetan Plateau but is also one of the relatively easier 7,000 m peaks in the world to climb, due to its gentle western slope and the comparatively drier weather of Xinjiang.
