Description
Wound around a core nickel wire is a flat nickel `tape` wrap of metal. Also known as `flatwounds,` these strings were a staple on electric bass guitars from the 1940s and are still used today by many, albeit a minority of musicians. A warm and smooth sound are their trademark characteristic. Here is a super macro close up of what the nickle wrap looks like.
