Description
Located at 4,800m, Thukla Pass lies on the Everest Base Camp route and leads to the tiny hamlet of Lobuche where trekkers spend a night before their final approach to the base camp. The top of the pass has over 100+ memorials of climbers who have lost their lives while attempting to climb Mt Everest. Babu Chiri Sherpa 1965-2001 summitted Mount Everest 10 times and held two world records: 21 hours on the summit of Everest without auxiliary oxygen and made the fastest ascent of Everest in 16 hours and 56 minutes.
