Karlovac High School, founded as the High School for Serbs, is the oldest Serbian high school, it started operating in 1791, in Sremski Karlovci. The main initiators and financiers were Metropolitan Stevan Stratimirović and merchant Dimitrija Anastasijević Sabov, who set aside a large sum of money for the construction of the school.
