In commemoration of the centennial anniversary of the American Revolution, battle of Lexington, the San Francisco branch of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Sequoia Branch, planted this Sequoia Tree in Golden Gate Park, 19 April, 1894.The special significance of this tree is that is was planted with soils taken from tombs and buildings commemorating the heroic men and woman of the American Revolution.
