Description
Mount Kailash also Kailasa, Kangrinboqê or Gang Rinpoche is a 6,638m high peak in the Kailash Range Gangdisê Mountains, which forms part of the Transhimalaya in the Ngari Prefecture. It is considered to be sacred and is a major pilgrimage site in 4 religions: Hinduism, Bon, Buddhism, and Jainism. In Hinduism, it is traditionally recognized as the abode of Shiva, while it is believed to Mount Meru in Buddhist texts.
