The Polovragi Orthodox Monastery is 500 years old 1505, the first founders of this place are Radu and P̮tru, sons of Danciul Zamona, in 1645, Danciu Paraianu the second founder built the church on the old foundations, and Constantin Br̢ncoveanu can be considered the third founder of the Polovragi Monastery. The painting of the church was executed in 1713 by Constantin Zugravul.
