As with many things that first happened way back in antiquity, exactly when and where plants were first grafted, the selective process of taking a part of one plant and adding it to another similar but different plant, first happened, is lost to history. But we do know that it did happen in different parts of the world, probably indecently of each other, at least two thousand years ago.Here, a healthy branch from a lemon tree was grafted to a healthy orange tree, producing both fruits simultaneously on the same, healthy tree.
