Belgrade Kosutnjak forest in autumn afternoon seen from the car #227494166
Description
Kosutnjak is the name for the forest and settlement in Belgrade in the city municipalities of Cukarica and Rakovica. Park-forest and city picnic area Kosutnjak covers an area of ââ¬â¹Ã¢â¬â¹330 hectares, at an altitude of 250 m. The forest of deciduous and coniferous trees is intersected by numerous paths. Probably, the name Kosutnjak came about because of the hinds, which used to be here. Until 1903, the dense forest was a closed hunting ground, and then KoÃ
¡utnjak was open to the public. There are also two specially arranged complexes in Kosutnjak: Pionirski grad, sports and recreation center, and Filmski grad with a complex of studios and other facilities and devices for film production. Sports and recreation center `Kosutnjak` has playgrounds for football, athletic competitions, volleyball, basketball, handball, five outdoor and one indoor pool. For ski lovers in Kosutnjak, there is a summer and winter ski trail. [1]. At the foot of the hill, where the hunting ground of the princely family ObrenoviÃâ¡ used to be, there is a spring called HajduÃÂka ÃÂesma. The Faculty of Sports and Physical Education of the University of Belgrade and the seat of the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute of Serbia are located in Kosutnjak.
