Siesta of fishermen in Cape Coast harbour, Africa #22772120
Description
Cape Coast, one of the major towns in Ghana (western Africa). It is an important tourist destination and transportation hub in coastal Ghana. It is a historical place, with old colonial center and a medieval castle. In the past, the castle served as a colonial fortress that controlled a trade between Western Africa and Europe, mainly gold and slaves. Cape Coast is also an important fishing center with hundreds of wooden boats going fishing on open waters everyday. In the afternoon, boats are taken from the water to the beach (foots of the Cape Coast castle) and fishermen rest, clean their boats, repair nets and meets with their families. The boats form cacophony of different colours, flags and religious names (the name of the front boat in the pictures is 7 Jesus).
