The Madeiran chaffinch Fringilla coelebs madeirensis; ââ¬ÅTentilhaoââ¬Â in Portuguese is a subspecies of the European or common chaffinch endemic to Madeira island, where it is found in the islandââ¬â¢s laurisilva forest. The worldââ¬â¢s largest remnant area of this type of evergreen temperate forest is located in this island; many species of animals and plants are exclusively found in this unique habitat.
