Moorlands, boglands, peatlands, glens and hills in the isle of Skye, Scotland #228571922
Description
Skye is the largest island of the Inner Hebrides archipelago, on Scotlandââ¬â¢s West Coast, and the second largest Scottish island after Lewis and Harris. It epitomizes the iconic Scottish scenery, with steep hills, rugged mountains, green glens and abundant moorlands and boglands. It offers plenty of choices for wildlife watchers and outdoor activities. Culturally it used to be one of the main strongholds of the Scottish Gaelic language. Nowadays the use of this language is declining, with less than a third of the islandââ¬â¢s residents being Gaelic speakers.
