Maldives, officially the Republic of Maldives is an island nation of the Indian Ocean in South Asia. The Maldives are a group of atolls spread south of the Indian Lakadiva, between the island of Minikoy in the far north and the Chagos archipelago in the south and about 700 km southwest of Sri Lanka in the Lakadiv Sea of the Indian Ocean.
