For most people, opening a new business venture is a big deal. Except for 1906 San Francisco when opening a new brothel was no big deal. Except when one Jerome Bassity, who fancied himself as a big deal in the bordello business. Jerome Bassity gave a party of such debauchery, that it was even written up in the local paper. And as the paper pointed out, the only reason the police, who should have broken it up didn`t, was because the police chief as well as the mayor were both good friends of his, and were probably there, too.This grand escapade took place at 731-743 Commercial Street, and this is how 731-743 Commercial Street looks in September 2021.
