It was built by Giuseppe Martinelli, an Italian immigrant who arrived in Brazil in 1889. Built in 1924, in an area considered noble at the time, the building impressed not only its dimensions, but also its rich ornamentation and luxurious finish: Riga pine doors , Carrara marble stairs, Belgian glass, mirrors and wallpaper, English bathroom fixtures, Swiss elevators.
