Title
Damselfly species Zygoptera, Odonata found at the banks of the Palancia river, a Mediterranean mountain river in Valencia region #231684470
Description
Zygoptera, or Damselflies ââ¬Åparotetââ¬Â in Catalan language, ââ¬Åcaballito del diabloââ¬Â in Spanish are very similar to the better-known dragonflies though generally smaller, and they occupy a similar ecological niche, as insect predators. They are also deemed good bioindicators of water quality, since the larvae of many Zygoptera species require clean water to live in. The upper reaches of the Palancia river Castello province, Valencia region, eastern Spain provide such habitat.
