Secrets of the streets of old Szeged. Cathedral - Church of Promise #231714442
Description
Szeged Cathedral is also known as the Temple of the Votive or Votive Cathedral. This is a very curious neo-Romanesque building. The cathedral is framed by two tall towers directed into the sky, which creates a strange optical impression. The temple seems to be at a certain point of balance between two forces pulling it in opposite directions. The walls, made of red bricks with a light finish, look very beautiful against the blue Hungarian sky.The cathedral is a fairly modern building. It was built in 1930. Inside, it is as beautiful and unusual as outside. You can even get tired of the abundance of colors and forms of interior decoration, there are so many different decor inside the cathedral. The ceiling painting and the huge organ, one of the largest in Europe, are impressive. And the cathedral itself is one of the largest religious buildings in Europe. At least five thousand people can be inside at the same time.
