Igapó is a lake created in Londrina, in the Brazilian state of Paraná, on December 10, 1959, the city`s Silver Jubilee day, through the damming of the Ribeirão Cambezinho, under the management of Antônio Sobrinho and coordinated by engineer Cássio Bittencourt Macedo as a solution to the issue of low air humidity and the problem of drainage, hampered by a natural stone dam. Initially, the idea was to dynamit the dam, but the idea of forming a lake prevailed.
