Detail of landscape in early autumn in Apuseni mountains, Romania. #232336793
Description
The Apuseni Mountains are a mountain range in Transylvania, part of the Western Carpathians. The highest peak is Bihor Peak, in the Bihor Mountains with an altitude of 1849 meters. The Apuseni Mountains are young, wrinkled mountains, formed in the Alpine-Carpathian-Himalayan orogeny. They are generally composed of a mosaic of rocks, predominantly limestone, so it explains the very large number of caves in the area. The area is dotted with mountain villages connected by picturesque, mysterious communal roads full of curves and belvedere points.
