Description

It was founded in 1771 during the plague epidemic. Named after the locality - Vvedensky Mountains. In the beginning, it was a burial place for those who died of the plague during the epidemic. In the 19th century, the cemetery was called `German`. Foreigners of Western Europe who lived in Moscow, in Lefortovo, were buried here. Many famous figures, actors, scientists, and war heroes are buried here. A pseudo-Gothic arch surmounted by a bell tower, built in the early 1870s. The bell was rung at the time of the funeral procession passing through the gate.
