Description
Pictured is a Tram 28 and a bronze sculpture of the poet Antonio Ribeiro by sculptor Costa Motta. Motta is always referred to as Tio in order not to be mistaken for his nephew who was also a sculptor. It was placed in Chiado Square in 1925. The popular poet`s nickname was `Chiado` which refers to the squeaky sound of wheezing. The tram 28 Lisbon line, was developed in 1914 and was designed to take residents from the central Baixa district to neighbourhoods like Graca and Estrela.
