In modern times most people tend to think of utilities as publicly owned entities. However, originally they tended to have been private investments. Because of this, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission was founded only in 1932.The primary function of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission is the collection; transportation; distribution and treatment of both fresh and sewage waters, as well as electric power to city owned and operated facilities.This building that was supposed to be `very green and energy efficient`, at 525 Golden Gate Av. opened in 2012, has had a lot of controversies.As seen October 2021.
