Description

The manor in Gremyach could become one of the most interesting sights of the region, but so far both the former manor house and the garden are in too poor condition to receive large numbers of tourists. The manor was built in the second half of the 19th century. It is known that in 1857 the owner of these places lived in a wooden house, which means that the history of the stone manor house begins even later. The one-storey stone palace in the style of classicism appeared under the reign of Adolf Martin, the judge of the Brest county, who acquired these lands in the 1870s. But the estate did not serve the family for long. After Martin,it passed into the possession of his son Jozef Puzyn, who, after studying in Warsaw, wanted to stay there. In 1933,Puzyn sold the palace complex to the besieged Poles, who settled in the west of Belarus. They arranged a school in the building, and later the Soviet authorities began to use it as a pioneer camp. Since the camp was closed, the building has fallen into disrepair and decay. It was sold at an auction a few years ago. Restoration work is not very active yet.
