Description
The three-storey, stone built property is now occupied by a number of retail businesses. and cafes on the ground floor and a youth centre within its upper floors. Built in 1897/8 The building replaced the Trades Hall which during the Cotton Famine early 1860s had been converted by Sir James Kay Shuttleworth for use as a soup kitchen and workingmenââ¬â¢s club. It was given to Padiham Liberal Club in 1870. The Trades Hall was itself a conversion of Padiham Corn Mill, which had been in operation on the site up to 1852
