The village of Banite is located in the eastern part of the Western Rhodopes, about 20 km from their border with the Eastern Rhodopes. It is located in a mountainous region in the Smolyan region, along the river Malka Arda, at 750 meters above sea level. The village is located between two regional centers - Kardzhali and Smolyan. The baths are famous for the mineral water, whose spring temperature is 43°C and is unique in composition for Bulgaria. The village has an old and a new part. The new part is built around the mineral baths, which are said to have been used in Roman times.
