Aerial view of the orchards of Adige valley, South Tyrol, Italy #235883803
Description
An orchard is an intentional plantation of trees or shrubs that is maintained for food production. Orchards comprise fruit- or nut-producing trees which are generally grown for commercial production. Orchards are sometimes concentrated near bodies of water where climatic extremes are moderated and blossom time is until frost danger is past. The Adige is the second-longest river in Italy, after the Po, rises in the Alps in the province of South Tyrol, near the Italian border with Austria and Switzerland, and flows 410 kilometres through most of northeastern Italy to the Adriatic Sea.
