Tagetes erect, Aztec marigolds, Mexican marigolds, large marigolds, cempazúchitl or cempasúchil, is a species of flowering plant from the genus Tagetes native to Mexico. An annual herbaceous, flowering, drought-resistant plant with a sharp, peculiar smell. Inflorescences are baskets, very bright, yellow, orange, reddish-brown, brown or variegated, single or collected in complex inflorescences.
